ECR Excellence Academy launching!

As we begin 2023, there is some exciting news to share about professional development opportunities that are FREE, FLEXIBLE and FOCUSED on the professionals working within our nine-county region providing services to those with brain health needs and/or intellectual disabilities.

As an integral part of our Priority Initiatives for 2023, the Regional Governing Board has committed to providing training and development to our MH/DS provider network in order to build, retain and grow a strong, capable and compassionate workforce of professionals across the East Central Region.

We are kicking off this Priority Initiative centered around professional development which we’re calling the ECR Excellence Academy on Tuesday, February 7th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This first meeting will introduce the details of the program and will be held at the Kirkwood Regional Center Linn County in Hiawatha. What is the ECR Excellence Academy?

  • A twice a year, in-person conference
  • A combination of courses that are built into a self-paced online learning system.
  • Small group support and technical assistance to implement the learning

  • Mid-level managers
  • Those who have recently been promoted or taken on new and higher-level responsibilities
  • Program Coordinators
  • Program Supervisors
  • Program Directors

When can the training be accessed?

After the kick-off on February 7th, anyone who enrolls at that meeting can then access the online learning materials whenever it is convenient for them, 24/7.
